Scripture Song of Proverbs 18:10

“The Name Of The Lord Is A Strong Tower”

Commentary on Proverbs 18:10

by Living Faith Fellowship

In Bible times, a tower was the best defensive structure known to man. Using the advantages it offered, an outnumbered contingent of defenders could often hold off a superior force (Judg. 9:51). Our battle today is not against flesh and blood or the weapons of man (Eph. 6:12), and we don't need a physical tower or even a blast-proof bunker for protection. All we need is the precious Name of Jesus, through whom we are saved (Acts 4:12) and to whom every knee in heaven and earth must bow (Phil. 2:10).

The Name Of The Lord Is A Strong Tower is one of the shortest Scripture songs in our collection, consisting of only seventeen words repeated twice, but what words they are! No matter what the enemy throws at us or what happens to us on the outside, we have an impenetrable protection no one else can see - the Name of the Lord, our strong tower.
