Scripture Song of Hebrews 13:6

“The Lord is My Helper”

Commentary on Hebrews 13:6

by Living Faith Fellowship

Jesus admonished his disciples, "Be not afraid of them which kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do" (Luke 12:4). One of the glorious privileges of abiding in Jesus Christ is that, if we trust Him fully, we can be completely free from fear of men. Even the trials that we endure come only by God's permission (Job 1:12), and work together for our good (Rom. 8:28). In essence, if the Lord is our helper, the deck is stacked in our favor - we literally cannot lose! When the King of all the universe is our Father, why would we turn anywhere else for help? Power belongs to God!
