Christian Fiction With Biblical Substance - Free To Download
Posted on Aug 10th, 2013

When you think of edifying things to do, reading a novel probably isn't high on the list. This is understandable, as the vast majority of fiction (even Christian fiction) is designed mainly for entertainment.
While there's nothing wrong with clean entertainment, it has long been our desire to use the powerful medium of fiction for a higher purpose. To this end, we recently established a small publishing outreach called "Elisha Press." The books released under this label, written within the family, are free for digital download in Kindle and ePub formats. There is also a "read-online" version of each.
Even if you are not a reader of fiction ordinarily, we think you will find these materials both entertaining and spiritually uplifting. The stories affirm and reinforce the same principles set forth in our statement of faith and Scripture commentaries.
The Reunion is a simple story, published last year but penned over 30 years ago. It was originally written for the six homeschooled children in our family, but has since been enjoyed by people of all ages. Reviewers have said that it makes a good read-aloud as well.
The Sparrow Found A House, written and published this year, is especially suitable for homeschooled teenagers and families, but can be enjoyed by Christians of any age and calling.
One reviewer from Washington state wrote this about The Sparrow Found A House: "I have stayed away from fictional books for quite some time now. Too often they promote fantastical ideas that are contrary to the Word of God. This book is not just entertaining, but an exhortation to all Christians. I will admit, this book was the first fictional one that caused me to seriously contemplate the way I live my life for Christ."
The above comment is not untypical for reviewers of these first two books. Another reader remarked that The Reunion "is more about Jesus than anyone else." We consider that the best possible endorsement.
Other books, including a companion book to The Reunion, are scheduled to be added in the months to come. If you register for the free download, you will be notified by email when new materials are available. We trust that these new free resources will be of benefit to the Body of Christ throughout the world.
